I can't remember what the solution was to support actually interacting with it, but I suspect it was something like 'if it needs a keyboard, it's not reliable enough'. The fact is, my fingers don't seem to follow any of the laws of computing related to the period over which they should half in size. They do seem to be have relatively fixed dimensions, so I do kind of need some appropriately scaled tactile device to bash things out on occasionally.
